The Federal State of Brandenburg

A large Federal State with a rich heritage. The German capital region Berlin-Brandenburg lies in the very heart of the new Europe. With a total surface area of 29.476 square km, Brandenburg is one of the largest Federal States in Germany and the largest of the 'new' Federal States that emerged from the former German Democtratic Republic. Brandenburg has a rich cultural heritage embedded in truly idyllic countryside, with ready access to the new EU markets and Berlin right on the doorstep. It is a region that offers investors and entrepreneurs a high level of active business support and an excellent quality of life.

Natural resources. Brandenburg characteristically has a number of important wetlands (such as Oderbruch or Spreewald). It has about von 33.000 km of river (Spree, Havel, Rhin, Nuthe und Dahme) as well as many canals and about 3000 lakes, making Brandenburg the Federal state with the highest proportion of inshore waters.

Industry. Today the aerospace industry counts as one of Brandenburg's major growth industries. Famous names like Rolls Royce, MTU, Pratt & Whitney, Lufthansa and Bombardier are all represented here. Every two years Brandenburg organises one of the world´s leading aviation trade shows, the International Aerospace Exhibition. And it is in Brandenburg that the jet propulsion engines for the new Airbus A 400 M are now being built—compelling testimony to the enduring great tradition of aviation technology in the state.

Finow Eberswalde Airport (Flughafen Finow Eberswalde)

The Airport Finow Eberswalde lies 40 km north east of Berlin, at the motorway A11 Berlin–Szczecin. It is operated by Tower Finow GmbH.

The runway measures 2520 x 50 m (TORA/LDA) and is certified for 14 tons MTOM, heavier PPR. Its facilities include Avgas and Jet A1, hangars, deicing, engine and cabin heating, EPU, fire/rescue Cat. 3 O/R / Cat. 5 PPR.

The airport has immigration and customs services on request, and offers selfbriefing, flight preparation, flight plans, business centre, and catering. Available are also pilots accommodation, hotel, rental car, bikes, shuttle, and an aeronautical museum.
